10 steps to empower yourself

1.Your self-esteem is unconditional. So superficial criticism from people around you cannot impact on your self-esteem.

2.You cant give away what you dont have. To be an inspiring manager, you must be a giving person first.

3. Have the strength to look at yourself - warts and all. Then accept yourself unconditionally. Admit to your weaknesses, and make a plan for fixing them.

4. Start your route to success by asking, "Who am I and what do I want?" Write down as much as you can without censoring. If this doesnt make things clear, then talk it over with loving family and friends.

5.Adjust your beliefs and thoughts. If you constantly compare yourself badly with others, thinking they're prettier or brainier, you sap your inner energy. Remind yourself of your strengths, so that your energy levels stay high.

6.Positive energy comes from love. Surround yourself with people you care for, and who care for you. Also consider that physical action can help energise you: going for a run can be a boost!

7. Call on your inner best at will. When we feel a certain way, our brain lays down a neuropath. You can revisit that path. For example, think back to a time when you felt really confident. Take an inner snapshot of how that felt. When you need to feel that confidence, envision that snapshot.

8. Give yourself permission to fail. Accept that human being are gloriously fallible. Everyone has a bad day at some point, so dont let it prevent you from moving forward.

9. Motivation comes from success. If you know what you want, and how you're going to get there, energy to stay motivated will come from achievement. Include little baby steps in the plan so you are motivated by every little bit of progress.

10. Be a counter, not discounter! Most of us have a tendency to credit the bad more than good. This saps energy. Instead credit yourself for every positive step you take each day.
